
Are you a Halton resident with household hazardous waste and electronic waste piling up at home? Then you’re in luck as Halton Region is hosting a free special waste drop-off day for household waste in Burlington. Please note that commercial waste is not accepted.

Acceptable household hazardous waste
- Acids, solvents, glues
- Mercury containing devices
- Paints and stains (full or partially full)
- Pressurized cylinders less than 20 lbs
- Aerosols (full or partially full)
- Fluorescent lights, CFL bulbs
- Pesticides, garden chemicals, fertilizers
- Personal care products
- Automotive liquids, oil filters
- Medications (prescriptions and over-the-counter)
- Sharps (must be in a sealed container)
- Household cleaners, bleach and pool chemicals
- Batteries
- Waste cooking oil
Acceptable electronic waste
- Computers and modems
- Monitors
- TVs and receivers
- Stereos and speakers (including vehicle stereos)
- DVD, VCR and Blue-ray players
- Cameras, camcorders (including security cameras)
- Cellphones, home phones
- Printers, copiers, fax machines
- Headphones
- Audio recording equipment
- Electronic musical instruments
- PDAs and pagers
- Printer cartridges
- Projectors
- Video gaming devices
- Drones with audio/visual recording equipment
- Handheld point-of-sale terminals or devices
- All peripherals and cables (including charging cables)
