What can we do about lawn service companies that are using commercial high decibel equipment that is damaging our ears and denying our children, families and nature to function in harmony?

Thank you for your comment. According to our bylaw enforcement staff, we do not have any bylaws regarding lawn service. Our noise bylaw states that construction or maintenance noise is permitted from 7am to 7pm Monday to Saturday. Construction noise is not permitted on Sundays or statutory holidays. (Noise bylaw #19-2003).

Hello,
Our neighbors are doing a whole house renovation and have been using using tile saws, and other high power tools outside all weekend and into the evenings. Very loud and intrusive.
What are the bylaw rules currently for these type of noises? Could you please send me a copy of the up to date bylaw?
Thank you!

Thank you for your comment. The Nuisance and Noise Bylaw can be viewed at http://www.burlington.ca/bylaws. Enter ‘noise’ under keyword for the Nuisance and Noise Bylaw 019-2003. Construction noise is noted in section 8 of schedule 2. This was updated in 2008 (049-2008) where construction noise is prohibited from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. and all day Sunday and Statutory Holidays. I suggest you contact bylaw staff at bylaw@burlington.ca to discuss your concern for further clarification and in case of exemptions.
