Did you know that the City of Burlington declared a Climate Emergency earlier this year? We are developing a Climate Action Plan and making decisions using a climate lens on City projects. But we can’t do it alone, so we’ve been out and about all summer asking Burlington residents to weigh in.
We’ve had some great input so far through:
- Five pop-ups at community events this summer,
- Two public workshops in September, and
- An online survey.
We’re developing key programs using what we’ve heard over the past few months. We hope we can help our community move away from fossil fuels, particularly for buildings and transportation.
Next, we’re hosting an open house on key actions and on how to put the plan into action and of course, you’re invited!
Thursday, Oct. 24
4 to 7:30 p.m.
Haber Recreation Centre, 3040 Tim Dobbie Dr.
We will take your feedback and add it into our Dec. 2 draft report to the City of Burlington Committee of the Whole meeting.
Take Action Burlington! Collectively we can make a difference to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. Let’s all take action as we decide the best ways to get around the city and ways to make our homes and businesses as energy efficiency as possible!
