Learn More About Home Energy Retrofits in October

Do you want to make your home more comfortable, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly, but don’t know where to start?

The City of Burlington’s Better Homes Burlington team and Burlington Public Library are hosting a series of free, one-hour information sessions where residents can learn about home energy retrofits. These introductory sessions will walk you through the process of getting a home energy assessment, doing retrofits like air-sealing and installing an air-source heat pump, and how to use financial incentive programs, including Better Homes Burlington’s interest-free loan.

The Better Homes Burlington team will be joined by staff from The Atmospheric Fund and the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority’s Sustainable Technologies Evaluation Program to deliver these free sessions.

Connection to Climate Change

Better Homes Burlington is an action under the City’s community Climate Action Plan, approved by Council in 2020 following their climate emergency declaration. Burning fossil fuels to heat our homes contributes to greenhouse gas emissions and climate change. By transitioning away from the use of fossil fuels, we can reduce our collective carbon footprint.

Take Action Burlington! Learn more about the actions you can take to reduce emissions at home. Collectively we can make a difference.
