Feeling the winter blues? Check out Halton Garden Week, a week-long celebration of spring and gardening inspired by Seeds of Diversity Canada from Feb. 20-27, 2021.
Hosted by Halton Food, Halton Environmental Network, Greening Sacred Spaces and Oakvillegreen, this free online event will celebrate gardening across Halton Region with a public event focused on sustainable, local practices and products including:
- Heirloom and heritage seed producers and vendors
- Speakers and workshops
- Tuesday evening gardening trivia
- Downloadable family activities
Part of the week’s events include seeds and starter pot giveaways. Thanks to Briana Petersen, a Burlington resident with a passion for gardening, over 300 Burlington residents have the opportunity to receive up to 17 varieties of seeds, along with seed starting pots, through contactless pickup. Options include varieties of vegetables, herbs and flowers suitable for sun, shade or containers. Beginners and seasoned gardeners are welcome! The gardening kits are available thanks to funding through the Community Support Fund.
Register here for one, all-access pass to all webinars, workshops, speakers, resources, games and trivia!
