Share Your Eco Actions

Calling all Burlingtonians! Can we collectively carry out 200,000 eco actions by 2030? BurlingtonGreen thinks we can!

If you live, work, or go to post-secondary school in Burlington, consider sharing your eco actions to protect and care for our environment with BurlingtonGreen. They will track, report, and celebrate your eco actions with the hope of inspiring others to also take action. After all, there is only one Earth! As of Aug. 9, 2024, over 15,000 eco actions have been logged.

What are some examples of eco actions?

  • Eliminating or reducing car emissions (use public transit, bike, walk, drive an electric vehicle, carpool, turn your engine off while you wait)
  • Conserve or reduce energy consumption (cool/heat your home with a heat pump, ensure proper insulation and window sealing, use energy efficient appliances and LED lighting, air dry your laundry, use timers for lighting)
  • Help nature thrive (wildlife/pollinator friendly gardening, tree planting, invasive species removal, bird friendly actions, advocate for the protection of nature)
  • Reduce or eliminate waste (reuse or repair items, reduce food waste, compost, recycle)
  • Other (buy secondhand clothing, grow food, eat a plant dominant diet, shop local, prepare for our changing climate through flood prevention, etc.)

How do I log my eco actions?
