Green Energy Doors Open (GEDO) is an event to raise awareness about local sustainable energy initiatives and technologies that encourages businesses, organizations, community cooperatives, First Nations groups, municipalities and homeowners to open their doors and welcome the public for free.

Who is participating in Burlington?

The Feilders Green Home Tour is a GEDO event registered in Burlington this year.

The tour is also part of BurlingtonGreen’sMake the Switch” program, an initiative to encourage residents to transition to environmentally responsible transportation and home heating alternatives.

The passive solar orientation of the single-family home, the insulated building envelope and air source heat pump result in heating and cooling energy and carbon emissions that are much lower than surrounding homes.

BurlingtonGreen and local resident Jim Feilders will be presenting the Feilders Green Home Tour at 304 Seneca Ave. on Sept. 22, 23 and 24 from noon to 5 p.m.

Are you renovating your home?

Stay tuned for next month’s Take Action Burlington blog post about “Green Home Renos 101 – Local Stories” a local event on Oct. 25.

Take Action Burlington! Collectively we can make a difference to reduce our carbon emissions.
